The program was well-received during a recent luncheon
A Building Families program luncheon drew a crowd at the First Presbyterian Church of Cheraw in Cheraw, SC on January 10. Attendees were interested in learning more about the program and included representatives from:
- Community organizations that work with local families
- Department of Social Services
- Healthcare facilities
- Public and private schools
- United Way
“The event was a wonderful way to speak to community members in Cheraw about how the Building Families program can help children and families,” said Sonya O’Neal, Thornwell’s Vice President of Programs and Clinical Services.
O’Neal shared an overview of the Building Families program during the event. She spoke about what the program does and that a family specialist works with children and families in their homes. O’Neal also discussed how individuals can refer families to the program and what participants should expect from the program. O’Neal and those in attendance explored ways that Thornwell can partner with community organizations.
First Presbyterian Church of Cheraw would be the host church for the Building Families program in Cheraw. The church has been working through a discernment process this past year.
