Heritage Fellowship in Clinton on May 23
Thornwell is sponsoring foster parent training and hosting an interest meeting at Heritage Fellowship in Clinton, SC on Tuesday, May 23rd, 2017. The event begins at 6:30pm.
The training focuses on Prudent Parenting and Shared Parenting, as it relates to fostering. Trainees are eligible to earn one and a half contact hours to attend the session. The trainer is Elizabeth Mullins, SC DSS/Program Manager for Foster Family and Licensing Support.
The goal of the training is to provide foster parents with an understanding of how the concepts of Prudent Parenting and Shared Parenting are designed to improve the outcomes for children in foster care.
Why should you attend the training? If you’re a foster parent,
- You’ll be able to articulate and demonstrate example of Shared Parenting and Prudent Parenting.
- You will express a willingness when asked to participate in Shared Parenting activities.
- You’ll be able to demonstrate the concept of Prudent Parenting by creating an atmosphere of normalcy for a foster child. This will be demonstrated by the foster parent’s willingness to allow the child to participate in activities that children have access to outside of foster care.
