April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. This month is both a reflection and a reminder that it takes all of us to empower communities in which all people can experience both life and love in abundance. That is our vision at Thornwell – and it’s one that is made possible because people like you care deeply about supporting strong, healthy futures for children and families. This month and all year long, we are proud to be partners in prevention with the Children’s Trust of South Carolina and join them in our commitment to being a champion for children.
Here at Thornwell, we believe that prevention starts with being proactive. We also believe that family changes everything in a child’s life, and we strive to connect families to our programs and resources that empower them to be strong, healthy, and thriving. As our friends at Children’s Trust say, children are safe when families are strong, and families are strong when communities wrap them in love and support!
You might be asking yourself, “what can I do to help?”
It’s as easy as Raising Awareness, Connecting Communities, and Supporting and Educating!
Our friends at Children’s Trust offer these three steps to help spread the word to your family, friends, lawmakers, or anyone you may feel can be an advocate for children:
- Help families connect to programs in our continuum of care so that we can come alongside them as partners in their journey!
- You can share family-focused materials! Scroll down and CLICK the GREEN, BLUE, and YELLOW circles below to learn more and download helpful resources!
- Lastly, we would be honored if you chose to GIVE to Thornwell, knowing that your contribution will make a powerful impact on children and families.
Strong families mean strong communities. Thornwell has a legacy of adapting programs as society has changed around us and expanding services to meet identified needs. We can do this hard, necessary work because amazing people like you use their voices, their prayers, and their passion to support prevention. Together, we will meet the needs of children and families head-on because so many depend on our success.
It takes all of us to champion safe spaces where children and families can thrive.
Join the campaign focused on growing a better tomorrow for children and families!
