Experts tell us that 90% of all brain development occurs by the age of five. If we don’t begin thinking about education in the early years, our children are at risk of falling behind by the time they start Kindergarten. – Robert. L. Ehrlich
Thornwell’s 4-year-old Kindergarten Program
Thornwell’s 4-year-old kindergarten program is based on motivation and positive interactions aimed at promoting self-control, following instructions, cooperation, and other learning skills. The goal of the program is to get children ready to learn in school.
Thornwell’s 4k program is free to qualifying families and is made possible through Child Development Educational Program (CDEPP) funding with First Steps. Other students may attend for a tuition. Children aged 4 years old on or before September 1 are eligible to apply. Our 4k program is offered during normal school hours (7:30am – 2:30pm) with an after-school option available (2:30pm – 5:30pm), and includes meals.
Ready to apply? Simply download and print the 2019-2020 First Steps 4K Application Form (PDF).
