Shining Your Light

Volunteering and serving our local community is not only a noble endeavor but also a spiritual calling. It is a way to embody the teachings of love, compassion, and selflessness found in the Bible.

In Galatians 5:13, we are reminded, ‘You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.’

Volunteering is a beautiful way to humbly serve one another in love, using the freedom we have to make a positive impact.

Matthew 25:40 tells us, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

When we volunteer and help those in need within our community, we are, in essence, serving the divine within each person. It’s a sacred act that brings us closer to God and fulfills our higher purpose.

Volunteering is also an opportunity to live out the wisdom found in Philippians 2:4: ‘Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.’

By selflessly putting the needs of our community above our own, we create a bond of unity, care, and mutual support.

Your service is a testament to your faith, and it brings light, hope, and love into the lives of those you touch. Keep shining your light, for it is through your selfless actions that you glorify God and enrich the world around you.
