Summer Shouldn’t Be a Crisis for a Child

Imagine being 13 years old and having to decide if you or your younger siblings would eat that day.

Your belly howls from emptiness.

It’s hard to concentrate.

It’s hard to consider, right? Maybe even disturbing. Yet, this is what summer has looked like for most of Marc’s young life.
The security of daily school breakfast and lunch – GONE – and replaced with panic.

Summer shouldn’t be scary, but without the assurance that his basic needs will be met, Marc suffers from extreme anxiety every time the weather starts to get warm. He now lives at Thornwell, but it’s hard to break that cycle of fear unless good people like you can help Marc with the care, security, and love he deserves.
