Thornwell, LushAcres Farm, the City of Clinton, Presbyterian College, and Food Lion are partnering to host a community canned food drive from
May 19 – 26.
Take a peek into your home pantry and collect a few extra canned goods or consider picking up a few items at the store when you are on your weekly grocery shopping run! Every donation makes a difference and works towards feeding another family in need of a little extra support.
“We are so grateful to have the opportunity to give back and make a difference in our community. It’s an honor to be a part of Thornwell’s meaningful mission, and we are excited to see what positive outcomes we can create together,” said Jacob Koch, Director of LushAcres Farm. “We hope our efforts will make a lasting impact on those in need, and we look forward to continuing our work in the future.”
This food drive will support the upcoming “Gleaning Day,” June 27.
Gleaning Day is a day dedicated to serving and supporting families in our community who are facing summer food insecurity. To aid in this fight there with be boxes of fresh produce, canned goods, and healthy meal ideas provided to local families.
