A Christmas Story of Hope at Thornwell
On a silent night long ago, in a small town called Bethlehem, a young couple searched for a safe place to rest. Mary was ready to give birth, yet every door was closed. Finally, in the humblest of spaces—a stable meant for animals—Jesus entered the world. Wrapped in swaddling clothes and laid in a manger, the Savior began His life surrounded not by comfort, but by love.
The nativity reminds us of a truth at the heart of Christmas: God brings hope to the places we least expect it.
And that same hope is alive today at Thornwell.
The children and families we serve deserve warmth, stability, and the reassurance that they are loved by God and by us. At Thornwell, we strive to open our doors wide. Through the love of Christ, our foster families, family support programs, and compassionate care, we help children and families find what the Holy Family sought that first Christmas: safety, peace, and room to belong.
Every child we serve reminds us of the Christ Child—precious, loved by God, and deserving of protection.
This Christmas, as you enjoy the lights and perhaps linger at a nativity scene, we invite you to shine a light into a child’s life.
Because when you make room in your heart…
You help Thornwell make room for them.
This season, may the love born in a manger move us all to bring hope, healing, and home to God’s children.
To support Thornwell’s ministry, please consider making a gift.
Merry Christmas—and thank you for helping children find the hope of Christ.
