Celebrating Our Littlest Learners!

With joyful songs, proud smiles, and tiny caps worn with pride, Thornwell’s Child Development Center (CDC) recently celebrated its 3K and 4K graduates. In two heartwarming ceremonies that united families, teachers, and the Thornwell community, we honored their early childhood milestones. These are milestones made possible because YOU believe that education unlocks doors to limitless potential!

For Jasmine Speaks, mother of graduate Jazlyn Bluford, the occasion held a deeper meaning. Jazlyn, who began at Thornwell at just 8 weeks old, is the third generation in her family to benefit from Thornwell’s legacy of care. Jasmine shared how the CDC’s caring staff helped her recognize the signs of autism in her son in 2016. Thanks to their support and early intervention, he received vital services and graduated from speech therapy. “If it wasn’t for Thornwell, I do not know what I would have done,” she said.

When you support Thornwell’s Child Development Center, you tell parents and caregivers that they can have hope for bright futures for their child, no matter what! With confidence and joy, these students sang, received diplomas, and celebrated their next step toward kindergarten – and the rest of their lives!

“These moments remind us that learning begins long before a child sits at a desk,” said Nicole Maccalous, Thornwell CDC Director. “Watching them cross the stage is a celebration of their accomplishments and the bright futures ahead.”

Both ceremonies were joyful and reflective, emphasizing the importance of nurturing children’s growth from the very beginning. Rooted in faith and compassion, Thornwell CDC continues to support children’s social, emotional, and intellectual development, setting them on a path to success.
